Bupa opens new dental centre!
More smiles for Holborn as Bupa opens new dental centre.

Research finds half of Londoners want straighter teeth.

Bupa has opened a new dental centre in the heart of Holborn, central London, as part of its plan to become one of the country’s leading dental providers.

The Holborn Dental Centre in Lion Court, which was founded in 2004, has been relaunched as a Bupa Dental Centre.

Co-founder Dr Graham Tinkler, who will continue to practise at the Bupa Dental Centre, is a leading expert in Invisalign technology – a near-invisible treatment to straighten teeth – and the practice has treated more Invisalign patients than any other in the UK.

New research by Bupa has found that nearly half of Londoners (44 per cent) would like their teeth to be straighter, and seven in ten (70 per cent) want whiter teeth.

The new centre is just moments away from Bupa’s head office in Bloomsbury Way. It offers appointments outside of office hours, close to where people work.

The Bupa study also found that one in five people in London (22 per cent) would go to the dentist more often if it was easier to get an appointment to fit around work. One in seven people (13 per cent) also said would go more often if their dentist was in a more convenient location.

Ruth Chesmore, director of dental services, Bupa, said: “We’re very excited about the new centre in Holborn and to be working with one of the UK’s leading Invisalign experts. The new centre is in a great location, close to where people work, and offers appointments outside office hours. It makes our dental services easy for people to access, whether they have dental insurance or not.”

Dr Graham Tinkler said: “As a practice we are very excited to be part of Bupa. We are already at the cutting edge of technology with Invisalign clear braces and CEREC crowns which can be done in a single visit. Being part of Bupa will further allow us to grow the business and allows our dentists to focus on what they do best – using their experience to provide the highest standard of dental care possible.”

In July 2012 Bupa announced plans to add up to 50 additional private dental centres – mainly in major UK cities – to its existing chain, and opened a new centre in Manchester city centre at the end of last year. It currently looks after around 22,000 people in 13 centres across the UK.
