The Invisalign treatment process
During a consultation with Dr Tinkler, a highly detailed and accurate mould of your teeth is taken, and this is fed into a computer. A highly accurate 3D virtual reality model of your teeth and mouth is generated. Dr Tinkler uses his experience to manipulate your teeth in virtual reality in order to achieve the ideal end result of the teeth alignment process.
This is a crucial stage of the treatment. Dr Tinkler applies all the techniques he has learnt and uses his vast experience to obtain a tailored and optimum treatment plan.
Patient Journey – Invisalign Consultation and Scan
The computer is then able to generate intermediary stages, and the first set of invisible braces is manufactured. These slide over your teeth, applying a carefully gauged amount of pressure on your teeth to move them to the next stage. After two weeks you will need to return to the surgery where you will be given the next set of braces.
This process occurs every two weeks throughout the treatment. You are encouraged to remove the braces for brushing, eating, flossing, but must wear them for up to 20 hours out of every 24 for the treatment to progress as planned.
Book an appointment with Dr Tinkler
During the first consultation Dr Tinkler will take bite impressions of your teeth and send them, along with a set of precise instructions, to Invisalign®.
Invisalign® creates your aligners
Invisalign® uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners. There may be as many as 48 in the series or as few as 12, depending on your specific treatment plan.
You receive your aligners within just a few weeks
During the following visit you will receive your first set aligners. Your orthodontist will most likely give you a few additional sets for you to wear before you return for your next visit.
You wear the aligners made for you
You’ll wear each set of aligners every day and each night for about 2 weeks. You will remove them to drink, eat, brush, and floss. Treatment time averages 9-15 months, but will vary from case to case. Book in with visits every six weeks to check that the treatment is going as planned.
At the end of the treatment you will have a set of aligned teeth just as you always dreamed of.
